Store - Huck's Sales Associate

About the role

This is a full or part-time Sales Associate position with Huck’s, a 100% employee-owned company. Associates are expected to uphold the highest standards of customer service and store cleanliness, delivering fast, friendly service at all times. Responsibilities

• Customer Service: Greet all customers promptly (including via gasoline intercom), provide courteous service aligned with Best In Class standards, maintain store appearance to company expectations, ensure the store is open and ready for business during all hours, and resolve customer conflicts using the MAKE IT RIGHT method.
• General Job Duties: Commit to the company’s Vision/Mission Statement (T.H.A.N.K.S), perform tasks assigned by the Store Manager, follow all federal, state, and local laws and ordinances, adhere to the posted work schedule (or arrange changes with the Store Manager), operate shifts within company guidelines and policies, report sales, cash, or operating discrepancies to the Store Manager, participate in company contests, and practice suggestive selling at all times.
• Accounting: Complete a shift checklist per company policy, accurately record all hours worked on the workstation, ring all sales on the register without exception, and accurately record voids, refunds, and price overrides.
• Human Resources: Advise the Store Manager of any personnel situations or policy violations affecting store performance, treat all coworkers and customers with dignity and respect, record hours worked in the workstation, and comply with the Company Responsible Retailing policy.
• Security: Follow all cash handling procedures, ensure a safe shopping and working environment, protect all company assets (including cash and merchandise), follow vendor check-in procedures, keep cash secure in the safe and register, adhere to policies on excessive cash in registers and safe security, avoid allowing another associate to operate your cash drawer, and follow company shift change procedures.
• Merchandising: Keep coolers, drink boxes, shelves, and displays fully stocked and fronted at all times, clean and maintain equipment, ready high-margin products (e.g., coffee, fountain drinks) as directed, use correct pricing from the DSD or grocery book, and apply suggestive selling techniques as directed.
• Maintenance: Keep store floors clean at all times, check refrigeration equipment for proper performance and temperatures at least once per shift, clean windows, floors, shelving, counters, gas pumps, and parking lot, follow all items on the shift duty checklist, and immediately report maintenance problems to the Store Manager.
• Safety: Use ladders properly, follow lifting procedures per company policy, use wet floor signs as required, and promptly report accidents to the Store Manager and corporate office.
• Huck’s Bucks Loyalty App: Actively promote the Huck’s Bucks Loyalty app to customers, explain its benefits, monitor transactions for potential misuse of points or discounts, and assist customers with sign-up and redemption.
