Store - Huck's Sales Associate

About the role

Every Huck’s Market Sales Associate is responsible for the proper and efficient operation of their shift, within company policy, to ensure that the shift contributes to the profitability of the store.

Responsibilities

• Customer Service: Greets all customers promptly (including gasoline intercom) and provides courteous service adhering to all Best In Class standards; ensures store appearance reflects company expectations; ensures store is open and ready for business during all hours; handles customer conflicts using the MAKE IT RIGHT method.
• General Job Duties: Commits to the company’s Vision/Mission Statement (T.H.A.N.K.S); performs tasks assigned by the Store Manager; follows all federal, state, and local laws and ordinances; follows the posted work schedule unless changes are arranged; operates shift within company guidelines; ensures Store Manager is aware of sales, cash, or operating discrepancies; participates in company contests; performs suggestive selling at all times.
• Accounting: Completes a shift checklist according to company policy; records all hours worked on the workstation; rings all sales on the sales register; accurately records all voids, refunds, and price overrides.
• Human Resources: Advises Store Manager of personnel situations or policy violations affecting store performance; treats all coworkers and customers with dignity and respect; records hours worked; complies with the Company Responsible Retailing policy.
• Security: Ensures all cash handling procedures are followed; maintains a safe shopping and working environment; protects company assets, including cash and merchandise; follows vendor check-in procedures; keeps cash secure in the safe and register; follows policies on excessive cash in registers, change funds, and safe security; does not allow another associate to operate their cash drawer; follows shift change procedures.
• Merchandising: Keeps coolers, drink boxes, shelves, and displays fully stocked and fronted; cleans and maintains equipment; readies high-margin products as directed; uses correct pricing as listed on the DSD or grocery book; employs suggestive selling techniques as directed.
• Maintenance: Keeps store floors clean; checks refrigeration equipment for proper performance and temperatures at least once per shift; cleans windows, floors, shelving, counters, gas pumps, and parking lot; follows all items on the shift duty checklist; immediately advises the Store Manager of maintenance problems.
• Safety: Ensures proper use of ladders; follows lifting procedures; uses wet floor signs; reports accidents promptly to the Store Manager and corporate office.
• Huck’s Bucks Loyalty App: Promotes the Huck’s Bucks Loyalty app to customers; communicates benefits of signing up and using the app; monitors transactions for potential misuse of points or discounts; assists customers with app sign-up and usage.
