Store Driver

Advance Auto Parts offers a competitive hourly rate based on experience, location, and other qualifications. Shift differentials may apply where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Pick, stage, and safely deliver parts to professional customers
• Pick up returns and cores
• Distribute weekly/monthly sales flyers while promoting current sales and loyalty programs
• Perform daily collection of credit accounts
• Build and maintain relationships with MainStreet and National Pro customers; provide the CPP with insights from deliveries
• Assist in upselling and cross-selling products to increase average transaction value
• Maintain store cleanliness, including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, and parking lot
• General stocking duties, including truck stocking, back stock, and cycle counts
• Maintain knowledge of product inventory and new arrivals to assist with sales
• Engage with walk-in customers to understand their needs and recommend appropriate parts or services
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Safe driving and navigation ability
• Ability to use delivery board system
• Friendly and persuasive communication skills
• Ability to locate and stock parts efficiently
• Safety knowledge and skills
• Proficiency in operating inventory systems (Back stock) and store equipment
• Sales aptitude and customer service orientation
• Ability to identify customer needs and recommend solutions
• Speak and write English (Spanish a plus); communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers, and leadership
• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals
• Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed
• Confidence in engaging customers and promoting products
• Willingness to learn about new products and sales techniques
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

Preferred Experience

• Automotive parts experience

Physical Demands

• Predominantly walking or standing during work hours
• Ability to talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel
• Reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Work Environment

• Primarily working inside, but occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions while performing tasks such as installing batteries and wiper blades
• Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, explosives, and vibration
• Moderate noise level in the work environment

Pay

The good faith estimate for this role is between $13.50 USD and $14.61 USD per hour for a new team member. The rate offered depends on geographic location, retail experience, automotive knowledge, education, leadership roles, and other relevant skillsets.
