About the role
As a Delivery Driver, you will safely pick, stage, and deliver parts to professional customers while building and maintaining strong relationships. You’ll also assist with sales, stocking, and maintaining store cleanliness.
Responsibilities
- Pick, stage, and safely deliver parts to professional customers
- Pick up returns and cores
- Drop off weekly/monthly sales flyers while promoting current sales and loyalty programs
- Daily collection of credit accounts
- Build and maintain relationships with MainStreet and National Pro customers, providing insights to the Commercial Parts Pro (CPP)
- Assist in upselling and cross-selling products to increase average transaction value
- Maintain store cleanliness, including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, and parking lot
- General stocking, including truck stocking, back stock, and cycle counts
- Maintain knowledge of product inventory and new arrivals to assist with sales
- Engage with walk-in customers to understand their needs and recommend appropriate parts or services
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Safe driving and navigation ability
- Ability to use delivery board system
- Friendly and persuasive communication
- Ability to locate and stock parts
- Safety knowledge and skills
- Operating inventory systems (Back stock) and store equipment
- Sales aptitude and customer service orientation
- Ability to identify customer needs and recommend solutions
- Speak and write English (Spanish a plus); communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers, and leadership
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals
- Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed
- Confidence in engaging customers and promoting products
- Willing to learn about new products and sales techniques
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
Preferred Qualifications
- Automotive parts experience
Physical Demands
- Predominantly walking or standing during the shift
- Must be able to talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel
- Reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Work Environment
- Primarily working inside, but occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions when performing tasks such as installing batteries and wiper blades
- Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, explosives, and vibration
- Moderate noise level in the work environment
Pay
The good faith estimate for this role is between $18.05 USD and $19.54 USD per hour for a new team member. The rate offered depends on geographic location, experience in retail, automotive knowledge, education, leadership roles, and other relevant skillsets, including shift differential (if applicable).
