Store Driver

About the role

As a Driver, you will safely deliver parts to professional customers, manage returns, promote sales programs, and maintain strong customer relationships. You’ll also assist with store upkeep, inventory, and sales support.

Responsibilities

  • Pick, stage, and safely deliver parts to professional customers
  • Pick up returns and cores
  • Drop off weekly/monthly sales flyers while promoting current sales and loyalty programs
  • Daily collection of credit accounts
  • Build and maintain relationships with MainStreet and National Pro customers while providing insights to the CPP
  • Assist in upselling and cross-selling products to increase average transaction value
  • Maintain store cleanliness, including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, and parking lot
  • General stocking, including truck stocking, back stock, and cycle counts
  • Maintain knowledge of product inventory and new arrivals to assist with sales
  • Engage with walk-in customers to understand their needs and recommend appropriate parts or services
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Safe driving and navigation ability
  • Ability to use a delivery board system
  • Friendly and persuasive communication
  • Ability to locate and stock parts
  • Safety knowledge and skills
  • Operating inventory systems (Back stock) and store equipment
  • Sales aptitude and customer service orientation
  • Ability to identify customer needs and recommend solutions
  • Speak and write English (Spanish a plus); communicate effectively and build strong relationships
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals
  • Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
  • Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed
  • Confidence in engaging customers and promoting products
  • Willingness to learn about new products and sales techniques
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

Preferred Experience

Automotive parts experience is preferred.

Physical Demands

  • Predominantly walking or standing
  • Frequently required to talk, hear, handle, or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Work Environment

  • Primarily indoors, with occasional outdoor exposure to weather conditions (e.g., installing batteries and wiper blades)
  • Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, high/precarious places, toxic/caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, explosives, and vibration
  • Moderate noise level

Pay

The good faith estimate for this role is between $16.00 USD and $16.13 USD per hour for a new team member. The rate offered depends on geographic location, experience, automotive knowledge, education, leadership roles, and shift differential (if applicable).
