About the role
This store design position will be part of the Amazon Worldwide Retail Growth & Development. We are an exciting, fast-moving business unit, where everyone on the team needs to be entrepreneurial, wear many hats and work effectively in a highly collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Solutions oriented, proactive and flexible attitude; willingness to take an “all hands-on deck” approach
- Translating brand design standards and concepts in an innovative yet fiscally responsible way
- Working across a large portfolio and multiple banners with a diverse set of programs
- Managing the design process, interfacing with internal and external design partners
- Adapting site specific conditions metrics and standards to store designs
- Building data driven scope of work with internal stakeholders, focused on servicing operating stores
- Developing FF&E and Décor packages
- Working with key internal and external stakeholders in the development and production of comprehensive design development packages
- Creating presentation packages to communicate design with cross-functional teams and senior leadership
- Driving and creating Schematic Design Packages
- Coordinating with Construction, Procurement and Operations Teams on budget and schedule considerations and value engineering efforts
- Managing consultants throughout all phases of design through the project lifecycle
- Providing Construction Administrative support as needed
- Archiving completed drawings, redlines, and shop drawings
- Obtaining landlord approvals per lease requirements
- Reviewing and approving submittals and shop drawings
- Demonstrated ability in building and health codes, 3D visualization, and industry trends
- Demonstrated ability to communicate design vision in visual, written, and verbal formats
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Able to work effectively in an extremely fast paced, ambiguous environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in architecture or interior design
- 5+ years of commercial retail design or architecture experience
- Intermediate Revit skills required
Preferred Qualifications
- Grocery experience strongly preferred
- Architectural or Interior Design FF&E background preferred
- Adobe Suite, Bluebeam, Enscape, SketchUp, SmartSheet Knowledge of current sustainability trends and practices preferred
- Proven track record of owning projects from start to finish
- Experience with design development, construction documents, permitting and construction administration
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an extremely fast paced, ambiguous environment
