Under general supervision, review information from landlords and site surveys to create store layouts that optimize space while meeting company design guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Take as-builts, site surveys, and/or CAD files and create preliminary floor plans in accordance with company store design standards, ensuring compliance with all governing building codes.
- Present floor plans to the internal store development team to ensure needs are met for Store Operations, Doctor Operations, Marketing, IT, and Merchandise.
- Incorporate feedback into preliminary plans while ensuring compliance with governing construction codes.
- Provide consultants with final floor plan designs and confirm they have all necessary information to complete construction documents (CDs).
- Review CDs for design integrity, ensuring all site-specific items are addressed.
- Develop and produce a full set of architectural construction documents, ensuring compliance with all governing construction codes.
- Coordinate design intent with the Subject Matter Expert (SME) Engineer for the development of their drawings.
- Communicate with city officials and/or permit expeditors to address comments during the plan review process.
- Meet with buyers on a per-project basis to validate store purchasing needs.
- Develop sublease and evacuation plans for each location in accordance with fire code and corporate specifications.
- Manage each stage of a project, track deadlines, provide project updates, and communicate changes to the cross-functional team.
- For remote or hybrid roles, maintain high engagement in virtual environments, including camera presence during meetings to support effective communication and team alignment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of work experience in chain retail store design and/or CAD design.
- Ability to create, read, understand, and interpret construction documents as well as architectural and engineering drawings.
- Working knowledge of governing construction codes and accessibility design guidelines (ADA, ANSI, Title 24, etc.).
- Skilled in architectural design programs (Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, etc.).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
- Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think logically and problem-solve.
- Efficient time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to initiate immediate interaction, coordination, and collaboration with team members and business partners.
Pay
Salary range: $58,656.00 – $92,328.00. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. This role may include eligible bonuses and commissions.
