About the Role
A NAPA Counter Sales associate serves as the "face of the retail store" and the primary point of contact for customers seeking automotive parts and solutions. This role is ideal for individuals with automotive parts knowledge, whether gained professionally or through personal experience, and offers opportunities for career growth within the company.
Responsibilities
- Provide auto parts answers and solutions for retail and wholesale customers in person and over the phone.
- Assist other NAPA team members with customer questions using your parts knowledge.
- Deliver outstanding customer care and interactions with everyone who visits the store.
- Engage retail customers to create a positive and welcoming experience.
- Utilize technology, including computers, cash registers, telephones, and paper catalog systems.
Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Previous experience in a parts store or automotive industry, or a willingness to learn all things auto parts.
- High School Diploma or GED; technical or trade school courses or degree is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Strong listening skills and empathy for customers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background or passion for the automotive industry, heavy equipment, farm industry, diesel, marine, or dealership.
- Experience in a parts store, auction, retail store, or auto body/collision.
- Knowledge of cataloging and/or inventory management systems.
- Customer-centric mindset (both external and internal customers).
- ASE Certifications.

Pay
This position offers an hourly pay of $20.25, with potential progression to the top of the range within 12 months of hire for eligible roles. Starting rates for other positions may vary based on skills, experience, and qualifications.
