Scope of Responsibilities

Works under direct supervision and follows standard procedures to accomplish assigned tasks.

Job Summary

Responsible for ringing out each customer’s purchases while ensuring total customer satisfaction.

Job Duties

• Accurately scan and ring out all customer purchases using POS register, including cash, check, and charge transactions.
• Accurately provide change to customers.
• Follow proper procedure for closing out the register at the end of the shift.
• Request additional help as needed to maintain appropriate customer service levels.
• Offer assistance to customers with large purchases, such as carrying items out to their cars.
• Replenish inventory from in-store stock and incoming orders.
• Perform general housekeeping duties to maintain a professional and clean checkout area.
• Assist in maintaining general store cleanliness, including restrooms, break rooms, backrooms, and entryways, ensuring daily store standards are met.
• Replenish register supplies as needed.
• Answer the phone using an appropriate greeting and maintain customer service levels.
• Assist in inventory management, price marking, and merchandising of the checkout area and surrounding departments.
• React to potential shoplifters following company policy.
• Assist in implementing the Kinney Standard of Presentation (Merchandising).
• Assist in ordering replacement products from the appropriate supplier.
• Assist in identifying and returning outdated or overstocked merchandise to the proper source.
• Accurately package and prepare items for home/business delivery.
• Complete all mandatory and regulatory training programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
