Store Capacity Analyst

About the Role

As a Store Capacity Analyst at DICK’S Sporting Goods, you will support capacity planning by developing, validating, maintaining, and analyzing capacity-related data and reporting. This role focuses on optimizing the Athlete Experience through effective merchandise presentations by ensuring data accuracy and consistency.

Responsibilities

• Develop and analyze product, fixture, and store capacity data to identify outliers, patterns, and indicators that inform capacity allocation decisions.
• Conduct fixture and floorplan validation activities to ensure store layouts, fixture configurations, and capacity assumptions align with established standards and support capacity planning processes.
• Develop, maintain, and validate store-level capacity datasets derived from new store plans and existing store environments.
• Analyze complex data sets to identify trends, opportunities, and quantify the potential value of new initiatives.
• Create unit capacity reporting for all front-of-house and back-of-house departments by developing recurring analytical deliverables, dashboards, and reporting tools to improve visibility into store capacity performance.
• Build and maintain a quality assurance program for fixture dimensions and unit capacity standards, addressing issues to ensure accuracy in downstream processes.
• Identify and implement process improvements to translate complex data sets into simplified, actionable frameworks.
• Support the ongoing evolution of capacity methodologies, reporting tools, business rules, and operational processes through documentation and process optimization.
• Conduct thorough analysis to identify opportunities for improving capacity utilization, data accuracy, process efficiency, and propose solutions to business needs.
• Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of capacity-related data through quality assurance, issue resolution, and governance of standards and business rules.
• Prepare and deliver accurate and concise dashboards, reports, and presentations to support business decisions across multiple levels of leadership.
• Support capacity-related projects through data gathering, analysis, and recurring scaled deliverables.
• Maintain a strong Athlete focus, ensuring their needs drive your actions.
• Communicate findings, issues, and opportunities to the Senior Store Capacity Analyst to support capacity planning activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• 3-5 years of experience in Planning, Allocation, and Data Analysis.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency (required).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy (required).
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Experience with Business Intelligence and Data Visualization tools (strongly preferred).
• SQL and data query experience (preferred).
• Previous experience with retail analytics (preferred).
• Space Management Experience (desired).
• Retail Store Operations Experience (desired).
• Financial modeling experience is a plus.
