Store Associate/Device Repair Technician

Batteries Plus in Salem is seeking a full-time Store Associate/Device Repair Technician to deliver power and lighting solutions while providing expert technical repairs for a wide range of devices.

Responsibilities

• Customer Service / Sales
  • Greet customers, determine needs, and answer questions.
  • Suggest and sell add-on items to meet sales and profit goals.
  • Identify potential commercial customers through targeted questions.
  • Operate a computer/cash register to complete accurate sales transactions.
  • Answer phones, assist callers, and relay messages promptly.
  • Support retail and commercial sales initiatives.
  • Monitor loss prevention and report unusual activities to management.
  • Collaborate as a team player to achieve company goals.
  • Maintain a customer-first mentality in all interactions.
• Technical
  • Install batteries and perform testing and technical work.
  • Rebuild battery packs as needed.
  • Repair smartphones, tablets, light fixtures, and other devices.
  • Replace screens, batteries, and other components on smart devices.
  • Cut keys and reprogram key fob remotes.
• Merchandising / Inventory
  • Assist with store operations as directed by the Store Manager or Assistant Manager.
  • Rotate and stock inventory, including loading, unloading, and arranging deliveries.
  • Organize daily recovery of displays to maintain store appearance.
  • Maintain retail shelf label pricing.
  • Build and dismantle displays, shelves, and fixtures.
  • Prepare the store for opening and closing, including reconciling register drawers.
  • Maintain facility safety and cleanliness (e.g., mowing lawns, removing snow, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, restroom upkeep).
  • Follow all safety rules and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Requirements

• Demonstrated technical aptitude and ability to learn new processes quickly with minimal guidance.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple commitments, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills; ability to inform, teach, and train others.
• Retail environment working conditions.
• Regular use of hands to handle electronic products, computers, office equipment, and tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb on a regular basis.
