Store Assistant (Bonused)

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Manager to join our team at Circle K, located at 460 S McLean Blvd, Elgin, Illinois 60123. The position offers flexible shifts including days, evenings, overnight, and weekends. The Assistant Manager will assist the Store Manager in overseeing station operations, including hiring, supervising, and managing staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager with daily operations
• Hire, supervise, and motivate staff
• Bookkeeping and merchandising
• Maintain high standards and provide excellent customer service
• Ensure regular and predictable onsite attendance
• Execute the food program to high standards
• Lead a team of employees and management
• Recruit, interview, and hire new employees
• Delegating tasks and providing follow-up
• Teaching and motivating staff
• Planning and organizing tasks
• Communicating plans and ideas
• Cash-handling and bookkeeping
• Solving problems and advocating for staff
• Ensuring safety and security

Requirements

• Experience in retail or supervision
• Experience as a supervisor or manager
• Experience in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring
• Experience handling food
• High school or college degree

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours
• Lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead up to 30 minutes in a shift
• Occasionally lift and/or carry up to 60 pounds from ground to waist level
• Push/pull with arms up to a force of 20 pounds
• Bend at the waist with some twisting up to one hour a shift
• Grasp, reach and manipulate objects with hands
• This handwork requires eye-hand coordination, and may require climbing a ladder to store and retrieve materials or place and remove signs

Pay

Hiring Range: $17.00 to $17.25 per hour
