Store A Manager

About the Role

This position involves leadership and management of a retail store, including supervision of 2 or more full-time employees. The role requires developing positive relationships with suppliers and customers, ensuring store operations meet company standards, and driving financial performance.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise Assistant Manager(s), Lead Representative(s), and Customer Service Representative(s).
• Recruit, hire, and train employees to ensure excellent customer service.
• Manage and assign tasks to maintain a clean, stocked, and organized store.
• Schedule employees within company guidelines to maximize customer service and store image.
• Implement non-discriminatory management practices in hiring, training, and employee relations.
• Develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with suppliers.
• Resolve customer complaints in a timely and professional manner.
• Ensure regular and predictable onsite attendance.
• Promote a safe, positive public image within the community.
• Conduct performance appraisals in Workday, including 30-, 60-, 90-day, 12-month, and anniversary check-ins.
• Train employees on customer service, store image, marketing execution, and safety procedures.
• Mentor employees on cash handling and risk reduction.
• Ensure employees complete all required training in a timely manner.
• Facilitate timely communication among all employees and with the District Manager.
• Organize and maintain store files, manuals, and required reports.
• Supervise stocking, display, and pricing of merchandise.
• Ensure all employment-related posters and signs are accessible to employees.
• Analyze daily sales and expense information to maximize sales and net profits.
• Budget and forecast profit & loss lines, manage merchandise margins, and safeguard company funds.
• Notify District Manager of any discrepancies in sales, cash, inventory, or operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, plus 1–2 years of retail work experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Ability to supervise and train employees on equipment, tools, and materials used in the store.
• Ability to manage functions listed in Customer Service Representative, Lead CSR, and Store Assistant job descriptions.
• Proficiency or ability to learn computer skills for reports, inventory control, cash management, and employment forms.
• Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
• Open availability for scheduling.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (orally and in writing).
• Ability to perform all essential duties and physical functions described.
• Food Server certificate (e.g., ServSafe) and Food Safety Management certification may be required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work a minimum of 50 hours per week.
• Exposure to cold or warm temperature extremes (e.g., walk-in cooler/freezer, outdoor work).
• Occasionally lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds overhead and up to 50 pounds from ground to waist.
• Grasp, reach, and manipulate objects with hands for an entire shift (requires eye-hand coordination).
• Push/pull with arms up to 20 pounds (e.g., using a hand-truck).
• Reach overhead, bend, twist at the waist, stoop, kneel, squat, and climb ladders.
• Ability to communicate orally and operate a cash register/computer keyboard.
• Stand and/or walk for an entire shift.
• Work alone and be exposed to occasional noise.

Work Environment

• Work requires 50 hours per week, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Approximately 95% of work is indoors, with occasional outdoor tasks (e.g., cleaning parking lots, gas pumps, taking out garbage).
• Exposure to extreme cold temperatures (e.g., walk-in cooler/freezer).
• Exposure to occasional noise.
• Work with minimal direction and periodic supervision.

Pay

Hiring range: $19.00 to $32.00 per hour.
