Storage Engineer

About the role

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an onsite Storage Engineer to join a government consulting firm supporting a mission-critical federal program based in Fort Belvoir, VA. This opportunity offers the chance to work within a highly secure enterprise environment where data availability, infrastructure reliability, and operational continuity are critical to mission success.

Responsibilities

• Manage enterprise data storage infrastructure to ensure system reliability, scalability, and optimal performance
• Partner with infrastructure and security teams to support data protection initiatives and storage architecture improvements
• Investigate and resolve infrastructure issues impacting storage availability, recovery operations, or application performance
• Support lifecycle management activities, including platform enhancements, capacity planning, upgrades, and maintenance efforts
• Identify opportunities to streamline operations through automation and proactive monitoring practices

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise-level storage environments and technologies, such as SAN and/or NAS platforms
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Experience with replication, snapshots, storage performance tuning, RAID configuration, storage provisioning, LUN/volume management
• Experience supporting Linux and/or Windows servers with attached storage
• Working knowledge of enterprise backup and recovery technologies and concepts
• Ability to proactively monitor infrastructure health, troubleshoot performance concerns, and implement corrective actions across storage and server platforms
• Must be eligible to work in the United States and obtain and maintain an active U.S. Government TS/SCI Clearance

Pay

Salary range: $130,000 – $140,000 (based on experience)
