About the Role
As a Support Technician, you will install and support security systems, responding to routine and non-routine customer service calls, scheduled maintenance, and emergency or after-hours service calls. You will diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair systems, replace defective parts, and install projects as needed. The role involves preventative maintenance for installed systems, technical assistance, systems checkout, and troubleshooting for new and existing installations.
Responsibilities
- Respond to customer service calls, including emergency and after-hours calls, on a timely basis.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair malfunctioning equipment or software for Milestone, LenelS2, and DMP systems.
- Analyze repair requirements and provide customers with appropriate solutions.
- Complete necessary repairs and replacements for security and access control systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance for installed systems, typically less complex.
- Work closely with other specialists to cross-train on servicing existing customers through service calls, customer support programs, and small projects.
- Provide technical assistance, systems checkout, and troubleshooting for new and existing installations.
- Install projects and system hardware as needed.
Qualifications
- Three years of experience installing network camera systems (Milestone, Axis, Hanwha, and Bosch).
- Three years of experience installing security systems (DMP and Bosch).
- Three years of experience installing access control systems (Lenel and S2).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proven track record of leading a security installation team.
- Aptitude for networking, computers, and general IT is preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to use hand and power tools to install hardware.
- Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders.
- Physically able to install system hardware and wiring.
- Must be able to lift 35 lbs. at a time.
