About the Role

Oceans Healthcare of Jackson, a 77-bed facility, is expanding inpatient capacity for adult and senior behavioral health patients and adding new services, including an intensive outpatient program. This part-time contract position supports the expansion at the freestanding hospital located on the St. Dominic's campus.

Responsibilities

  • Restock the automated medication system (AMS) ("Restocking Trip") a minimum of twice weekly, and as needed upon request by Company.
  • Ensure the integrity of pharmacy medication inventory as it relates to expiration dating, accuracy, and orderliness of the AMS.
  • Submit reports and audits as scheduled and as requested by Company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy Degree required.
  • Graduate of an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy required.
  • Current license to practice pharmacy in the state of practice required.
  • 6 months of experience; hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong mathematical and computer literacy skills.

Work Environment

  • Occupational Risks: Some portions (less than 50%) of daily assignments involve risks such as cuts, burns, exposure to toxic chemicals, injuries from falls, or back injury from moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials.
  • Safety Equipment: Job does not require the use of safety equipment, such as HEPA masks, for infection prevention.
  • Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure: OSHA Category I - Exposure not anticipated. Work does not involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissue.
  • Ergonomic Risks: Some portions (less than 50%) of daily assignments involve ergonomic risks, such as repetitive tasks, forceful exertions, vibration, cold temperatures, heavy lifting, pulling, pushing, or awkward postures.
  • Lifting: Job requires lifting up to 30 pounds.
  • Manual Skills: Significant portions (more than 50%) of daily assignments involve manual skills requiring motor coordination and finger dexterity, such as typing or machine operations.
  • Physical Effort: Some portions (less than 50%) of daily assignments involve prolonged standing, transporting patients or equipment, or lifting, moving, or carrying heavy materials (over 30 pounds) intermittently.
  • Travel: Some portions (less than 50%) of daily assignments require travel to client, resident, or patient locations or other work sites via car or public transportation.
  • Physical Environment: Generally pleasant working conditions.
  • Volatility of Workload: Workload changes are infrequent and typically minor when they occur.

Schedule

Work may require evening, night, holiday, or weekend assignments on occasion.
