About the role

As a part-time Sales Associate, you’ll be at the heart of Five Below’s energy, delivering outstanding customer service and driving strong sales. This role is perfect for candidates with excellent people and sales skills, a keen attention to detail, and a commitment to keeping the store well-stocked and organized.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers promptly by approaching them immediately, providing assistance, and handling multiple customers efficiently.
• Understand and meet customer needs by sharing product knowledge, answering questions, directing them to merchandise, and offering recommendations. Engage in suggestive selling while staying informed on product availability.
• Promote store events and promotions to enhance the shopping experience and drive sales.
• Resolve customer concerns by addressing issues and using product knowledge to offer alternative solutions, aiming to turn returns into exchanges when possible.
• Communicate needs to management, including merchandise restocking, service requirements, and customer feedback.
• Support team and company goals by collaborating with the team to achieve overall store and company objectives.

Requirements

• At least 16 years old.
• Available to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and potential overnight shifts.
• Comfortable with or willing to learn technology, such as cash registers, hand-held, and mobile devices.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with customers courteously and professionally.
• Able to handle customer interactions and potential issues with a problem-solving mindset.
• Use basic information-gathering skills to solve problems and learn procedural knowledge through on-the-job training.

Essential Job Functions

• Frequently operate a cash register.
• Frequently move merchandise weighing up to 25 lbs and place/remove merchandise at heights of 5-10 feet.
• Frequently ascend/descend ladders to retrieve and put away stock.
• Frequently position yourself to kneel, bend, twist, and stoop, including in the stock room and on the sales floor.
• Frequently communicate and exchange information with customers, managers, and coworkers, both in-person and over the telephone.
• Frequently move across the sales floor and to/from the stock room to assist customers and retrieve merchandise.
• Identify and discern email and print instructions regarding merchandise layouts, schedules, and standard operating procedures.
• Remain in a stationary, upright position for 80% of the time.

Starting at $11.00 per hour.
