Stocker - Perishables

Restaurant Depot is a wholesale cash-and-carry foodservice distributor. Our mission is to provide independent restaurants, caterers, and not-for-profits with savings, selection, and service, seven days a week. We operate 150+ warehouses and distribution centers across 37 states.

About the role

Responsible for providing prompt and courteous customer service, stocking perishable products on shelves, and maintaining clean and safe work areas throughout the warehouse. This is an hourly, union position with full or part-time availability.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, courteous, and friendly customer service
• Remove boxes from pallets and place them on shelves; open boxes and remove single items to restock shelves
• Organize and front-face items on shelves
• Perform proper inspections to meet HACCP regulations
• Assist in daily inventory review for product rotation to prevent shrinkage and damages
• Ensure shelf pricing is correct and reflects the most recent pricing
• Maintain warehouse cleanliness by scrubbing, pulling out pallets, and cleaning underneath on a regular schedule
• Continuously review department floors for safety hazards; promptly and safely handle spills and remove trash
• Work with Hi-Lo operators to keep the selling floor stocked and safe by returning overstock pallets to overhead reserves
• Promptly inform supervisors of any low stock or out-of-stock merchandise
• Perform other work-related duties as required and assigned
• May be required to work in other departments as needed

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license

Physical Demands

• Walking/standing on concrete up to 10 hours per day
• Frequent turning, standing, reaching, stooping, and/or bending
• Frequently pushing/pulling objects weighing 500 to 1,500 lbs.
• Frequently lifting/carrying objects over 60 lbs.

Work Environment

• Frequent exposure to cold/freezing temperatures
• Equipment in motion (forklifts, electric pallet jacks, scooters)
