About the Role

This position involves a variety of essential duties focused on merchandising, customer satisfaction, and maintaining store facilities. The role requires the ability to work days and evenings with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Merchandising:
  • Monitors and ensures product areas are stocked, rotated, and displayed for freshness, appeal, and easy customer access.
  • Complies with company guidelines to maximize sales, profitability, and customer service by ensuring accurate stocking, attractive displays, and correct pricing of grocery deliveries.
  • Completes build-to’s for ordering/purchasing merchandise.
  • Maintains inventory by checking in delivery, pricing items, and stocking merchandise according to schematic.
  • Validates deliveries by verifying invoices and reviewing discrepancies with the Store Manager; ensures outdated merchandise is returned.
  • Prepares displays by assembling, dating, and price marking in-store displays.
• Customer Satisfaction:
  • Provides prompt, excellent customer service in a courteous, friendly, and attentive manner.
  • Greets customers upon arrival and thanks them upon departure.
  • Resolves or assists in resolving routine customer concerns within established guidelines.
  • Reports to work on time and follows the dress and appearance code.
• Facility Condition:
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Performs cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, washing windows, counters, displays, and store areas.
  • Picks up and disposes of trash, litter, or debris.
  • Inspects store facilities and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and proper working order.
  • Cleans and checks equipment, including coffee machines, beverage/ice/refrigeration units, and other tools.
• Administrative:
  • Attends job-related meetings (may require irregular hours).
  • Assists in maintaining proper inventory levels and shift audits.
  • Maintains intradepartmental workflow by fostering cooperation.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
  • Performs all duties with minimal supervision and ensures regular, predictable onsite attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.

Requirements

• Minimum age of 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in retail sales preferred.
• Ability to work scheduled shifts, including arriving on time.
• Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) preferred.
• Ability to perform essential duties and physical functions as described.

Physical Requirements

• Exposure to cold or warm temperature extremes, including occasional work in a walk-in cooler/freezer and outdoors.
• Occasionally lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead (e.g., stocking inventory).
• Occasionally lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds from ground to waist (e.g., replenishing fountain syrups).
• Ability to grasp, reach, and manipulate objects with hands for an entire shift, requiring eye-hand coordination.
• Push/pull with arms up to a force of 20 pounds (e.g., using a hand-truck).
• Able to reach overhead for objects.
• Ability to bend and twist at the waist.
• Ability to communicate orally.
• Ability to operate a cash register and/or computer keyboard.
• Ability to stoop, kneel, squat, bend, push, and pull.
• Ability to work alone.
• Exposure to occasional noise.
• Ability to stand and/or walk for an entire shift.
• May require climbing a ladder to store/retrieve materials or place/remove signs.

Work Environment

• Performs approximately 95% of work indoors but may be required to clean parking lots, gas pumps, take out garbage, etc.
• Exposure to extreme cold temperatures while working in a walk-in cooler/freezer.
• Exposure to occasional noise.
• Works with minimum direction and periodic supervision.
