Responsibilities
- Stocks, straightens, clears, and cleans aisles.
- Retrieves and stores shopping carts.
- Unloads and loads trucks.
- Ensures safe retrieval of merchandise.
- Aligns product and collects stray items.
- Stocks to maintain high product levels.
- Communicates with supervisors and managers.
- Writes lists of products to be brought from steel.
- Cuts boxes for display and removes twine/shrink-wrap.
- Wraps or ties pallets and tags them.
- Stocks opened cases on shelves.
- Stacks product from partial pallets onto full pallets.
- Marks unmarked items using a marking gun.
- Observes and ensures correct product signage.
- Assembles and modifies display models.
- Bolts heavy equipment and tapes blade edges.
- Follows safety and security procedures.
- Pulls loose cardboard and slip-sheets from the floor.
- Operates cardboard baler and trash compactor.
- Rewraps loose product using shrink-wrap.
- Provides customer service.
- Helps customers load items into carts and vehicles.
- Retrieves shopping carts from the parking lot.
- Fills propane tanks for customers.
- Ensures compliance with all safety guidelines during propane operations.
- Assists with front-end duties as needed.
- Assists in other departments as needed.
- Operates manual pallet jack, wheeled carts, trash compactor, cardboard baler, product marking gun, shrink wrap machine, wrench, screwdriver, pliers, box knife.
- Occasionally operates cash register, handheld scanners, computer, fax machine, phone, printer.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
Qualifications
- Experience operating forklifts.
- Ability to follow merchandising standards and practices.
- Strong communication skills.
- Physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally.
- Computer skills, including keyboard and video display terminal usage.
- Knowledge of safety and security procedures.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
