Stock Worker and Receiver

Responsibilities

As a Stock Worker and Receiver at Sodexo, you will provide administrative and logistical support to warehouse operations, including:

• Receiving merchandise, unloading or unpacking goods, and marking items with identification codes
• Stocking shelves and assisting customers with order placement
• Verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments, and preparing items for shipment
• Receiving, lifting, moving, storing, issuing, counting, sorting, weighing, and verifying items on requisitions or invoices
• Receiving and processing incoming freight, including stationery supplies, chemicals, electronic equipment, and other materials daily across perimeter buildings and according to priority
• Comparing incoming and outgoing shipments to bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records to verify information
• Determining method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates
• Communicating with vendors, carriers, and internal departments to coordinate delivery schedules and confirm receipt of goods
• Unpacking and examining incoming shipments, rejecting damaged items, recording shortages, and corresponding with shipper to rectify damages and shortages
• Filling orders, issuing supplies from stock, and rotating stock to ensure freshness
• Resolving delivery problems using a computerized account payable/purchasing system
• Attending work and showing up for scheduled shifts on time with satisfactory regularity

Other duties may be assigned and can differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements.

Requirements

• 0-1 year of experience
• May require a valid driver's license
• May require forklift operation certification
• Ability to walk or stand for extended periods, throughout the entire duration of a shift (which may exceed 8 hours)
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift 35 pounds, occasionally lifting/moving 50 pounds

Schedule
