Stock Control Clerk - Materials Management

Summary Description

Under general supervision, is responsible for maintaining appropriate par levels of supplies and linens within hospital patient care areas. Reports needed adjustments to supply par levels to management. Reports problems with supplies, linen or distribution to management. Generates documentation of supplies pulled and issued. Inventories departmental supply and linen areas, pulls necessary supplies from stores and replenishes units. Retrieves soiled linen carts as assigned. Maintains cleanliness in storeroom, receiving area, linen rooms and clean utility rooms. Makes proper use of Lawson software relating to inquiry, research and processing functions. Ensures security of supply storage areas, maintains cleanliness and organization of main storeroom, receiving areas, linen rooms and clean utility rooms. Provides coverage for Linen and Mailroom responsibilities. Performs other duties as required/assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Three to six months on the job training.

Skills Required

• Basic knowledge of inventory control procedures.
• Ability to pay close attention to detail.
• Good communication skills.
• Physical ability commensurate with work requirement.
• Ability to lift heavy boxes (up to 50-60 pounds).
• Ability to walk and push/pull supply carts to various areas of the hospital to inventory/deliver supplies/linen.
• Manual dexterity and visual acuity to sort and deliver supplies/linen accurately.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Good organizational skills.
• Interpersonal skills necessary to provide assistance in response to problems.
• Computer skills necessary.
