This opportunity resides with All-Domain Operations (ADO), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. All-Domain Operations comprises multi-domain operations, platforms and logistics, and intelligence operations. HII designs, develops, integrates and manages the sensors, systems and other assets necessary to support integrated ISR operations and accelerated decision-making.

About the role

The Joint Interagency Task Force South (JIATF South) Liaison Officer (LNO) will serve as the primary point of contact for Government aviation programs supporting counter-illicit trafficking missions and joint interagency operations. This position manages the coordination of ISR flight operations and acts as the critical link between subcontractor personnel and Government leadership directing JIATF South’s operational efforts. The LNO utilizes expert-level knowledge of contracted ISR aircraft capabilities to optimize sortie planning, tasking, and mission execution. This role is located onsite at JIATF South Headquarters in Key West, FL.

The JIATF South LNO ensures seamless operational communication, mission planning, and interagency coordination supporting real-time detection, monitoring, and intelligence fusion operations. The incumbent assists mission partners by synchronizing ISR activity, resolving coordination gaps, and providing timely and accurate information flow between aviation assets and JIATF South’s command structure.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate activities and communications among USSOUTHCOM and JIATF South aviation programs, demonstrating strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Prepare and deliver operational briefings, written reports, mission updates, and stakeholder communications.
  • Provide strong leadership and maintain situational awareness of strategic objectives, serving as mediator and facilitator among interagency and partner-nation organizations.
  • Develop high-quality analytical documents, operational papers, and presentations supporting JIATF South and partner agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with all security requirements; provide guidance and technical expertise to staff as needed.
  • Serve as the central communication conduit for agency and organizational personnel.
  • Maintain current contact lists for interagency, international, and organizational representatives.
  • Facilitate meetings, coordination sessions, and cross-organizational cooperation.
  • Identify communication gaps and develop solutions to improve operational information flow.
  • Conduct detailed post-operation reviews and provide recommendations for future mission optimization.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must meet Combatant Command entry and access requirements.
  • Valid U.S. passport with minimum six months validity.
  • Willingness to deploy OCONUS as required.
  • Ability to work irregular hours in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a predominantly military and interagency setting.
  • Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • 3 years of relevant experience in Aviation and ISR.
  • Familiarity with Joint Airborne ISR Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs).
  • Deep knowledge of IMINT and SIGINT capabilities and TTPs for modern manned ISR platforms.
  • Experience planning and managing mission schedules.
  • Proficiency in FalconView and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience serving as an ISR/Aviation Liaison Officer between aircrew, operational commands, and interagency partners.
  • Understanding of SPINS, Airspace Control Orders, and Air Tasking Orders.
  • Intelligence background in imagery analysis, collection management, or all-source analysis.
  • Experience supporting operational centers such as CAOCs with ATO cycle planning and execution.
  • COMSEC experience including keymat loading and cryptologic equipment management.

Qualifications

  • Level 3: 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
  • Level 4: 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
  • Level 5: 15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience with Joint Airborne ISR TTPs.
  • 7 years of experience utilizing IMINT/SIGINT capabilities for manned ISR assets.
  • 5 years of experience supporting operational centers such as CAOCs, including ATO cycle planning and execution.
  • APACS and FalconView route planning experience.
  • Understanding of HF/VHF/UHF signal usage in the SOUTHCOM AOR.
  • Experience working in partner-nation intelligence fusion centers (e.g., Embassy Bogotá).
  • Knowledge of geopolitical considerations and operational dynamics across the SOUTHCOM region.
  • Familiarity with Counter-Narcotics and Transnational Criminal Organization tactics.
  • Qualified aircrew experience.
  • Multiple tours or assignments flying or supporting airborne ISR missions.
  • Previous experience as an LNO supporting USSOUTHCOM or JIATF South operations.

Physical Requirements

  • May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment.
  • Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.

Pay

Anticipated salary range: $112,583.00 - $140,000.00.
