About the role

The Stewardship Coordinator is responsible for building upon and executing a comprehensive stewardship and recognition program that embodies the mission of St. Paul’s School, meaningfully conveys gratitude and recognition to donors at every level, and inspires them to continue their support. This includes creating, implementing, and managing acknowledgements and impact reports as well as coordinating donor-related communications. The role ensures a high level of accuracy, organization, and timely execution so that donors experience high-quality, personalized stewardship that fosters long-term philanthropic support for SPS. The position focuses on four key areas: gift acceptance and management, acknowledgment, reporting, and donor recognition.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the point person for preparing endowment fund impact reports for donors and fund contacts, along with impact reports for various giving initiatives in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Process, design, and implement gift acknowledgment processes.
  • Serve as a partner to fundraisers at every level to support, enhance, and strengthen their stewardship efforts; design individualized stewardship/recognition for special gifts; and create imaginative ways to build meaningful relationships with donors.
  • Manage and oversee production of the endowment fund report and the annual report of giving in collaboration with the Advancement and Communications Office.
  • Collaborate with Advancement Leadership, Development Writer, and Gift Officers to craft compelling stewardship pieces for donors.
  • Refine and rethink current stewardship activities and develop innovative and effective ways for donor recognition and correspondence.
  • Coordinate leadership gift-giving recognition processes in conjunction with Communications, leadership gift officers, annual giving staff, and the Rector’s Office.
  • Lead the creation, maintenance, and execution of donor recognition plaques and support related events (e.g., dedications) as well as other donor recognition events.
  • Strategize with designated faculty and staff members to ensure appropriate and timely assignment of select awards and prizes for donor reporting purposes by assisting with coordination of nominations and promotion.
  • Collaborate with frontline fundraisers and advancement leadership to enhance ad-hoc stewardship activities.
  • Assist with other Advancement activities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (liberal arts or business focus preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a relevant role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and high attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively to produce reports, correspondence, and acknowledgments in a variety of voices.
  • Ability to effectively present information to a variety of constituencies in different formats.
  • Analyze, understand, and organize financial data.
  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables with limited standardization.
  • Develop effective interpersonal relationships and interact with donors and volunteers on both professional and social bases.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with word processing and spreadsheet software.

Physical Requirements

  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit for long periods, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk, and hear.
  • Use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to climb stairs and use a visual display keyboard with continuous wrist movement on a keyboard and mouse.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
  • Some exposure to outdoor elements resulting from movement between physical locations.
  • Occasional weekend and evening work is required for significant School events and volunteer meetings.

About St. Paul's School

Founded in 1856, St. Paul’s School is a fully residential independent high school located in Concord, N.H. The 2,000-acre campus is home to approximately 535 students from more than 30 states and 13 countries. All students and the more than 100 full-time faculty members live on the grounds. The School is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges as well as other nationally recognized agencies. In addition to its regular program for grades nine through twelve, St. Paul’s also offers the Advanced Studies Program each summer for academically talented New Hampshire high school juniors.
