Steward/Dishwasher

About the role

The Dishwasher is responsible for properly washing and storing all dishes, pots, pans, trays, eating utensils, cups, and small equipment for the department, maintaining the dish room and dish machine in a sanitary and efficient manner. This role also assists in the preparation of food items, performs basic culinary tasks, and supports both kitchen and front-of-house staff as needed. A commitment to customer service standards in all interactions is essential.

Responsibilities

• Washes dirty dishes, cups, glasses, utensils, pots, pans, and other equipment
• Stocks clean dishes, utensils, glassware, etc., as appropriate
• Maintains the cleanliness of the dish/kitchen area and ensures proper storage of cleaning chemicals
• Assists in handling outlet inventory, as necessary
• Supports the kitchen staff as assigned by the manager

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent, or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience
• Experience working in a restaurant or bar is preferred but not required
• Prior experience with cleaning products is a plus
