Essential Functions and Duties
- Washes and sanitizes dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, pantry, and storage areas.
- Ensures the proper handling and storage of all kitchen equipment and utensils.
- Maintains the dishwashing machine for proper cleaning and sanitation.
- Assists in transporting food and equipment to banquet and dining areas as needed.
- Follows health department regulations and hotel standards for cleanliness and safety.
- Disposes of trash and recycling in accordance with local regulations.
- Restocks dishes, glassware, and silverware in the kitchen and service areas.
- Communicates with the culinary team to ensure the timely delivery of kitchen equipment.
- Performs routine cleaning tasks such as mopping floors and wiping down surfaces.
- Aids in setting up and breaking down kitchen equipment for events.
Required Experience, Education, and Skills
- Previous experience in a kitchen or stewarding role is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of proper sanitation and safety procedures in a kitchen environment.
- Ability to operate dishwashing machines and other kitchen cleaning equipment.
- Strong attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and organization.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Good communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors.
Work Environment
- Primarily works in a kitchen environment with exposure to high temperatures, cleaning chemicals, and kitchen equipment.
- Frequently stands and walks for extended periods during the shift.
- Regularly lifts and carries objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Uses hands to handle kitchen equipment, utensils, and cleaning tools.
- Requires frequent bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
