About the role
Loews Philadelphia Hotel offers the opportunity to work in the historic PSFS building in Center City, delivering modern hospitality in a landmark setting.
Responsibilities
- Wash and sanitize dishes, cookware, utensils, and glassware to maintain the highest hygiene standards.
- Operate dishwashing machines and perform manual cleaning when needed to ensure efficiency and quality.
- Organize and store cleaned items in their designated areas for easy access and smooth operations.
- Keep kitchen floors, walls, counters, and equipment spotless, creating a safe and sanitary work environment.
- Support culinary, banquet, and outlet teams by organizing equipment and supplies for seamless service.
- Deliver clean plates, utensils, and other essentials to kitchen or service areas promptly.
- Collect and dispose of trash, recycling, and food waste according to hotel standards, maintaining cleanliness in all disposal areas.
- Sanitize trash bins and maintain cleanliness in waste management zones.
- Maintain cleaning supply inventory and restock as needed to keep operations running smoothly.
- Report broken or malfunctioning equipment promptly to the Executive Steward or Stewarding Supervisor.
- Use cleaning chemicals safely and follow all established safety procedures.
- Adhere to health and sanitation guidelines, including proper food handling practices.
- Follow all hotel policies and procedures to ensure a safe, organized, and compliant work environment.
- Participate in regular safety training and team meetings to stay informed and prepared.
- Regular attendance in conformance with standards.
- May be required to work varying schedules to reflect business needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Previous experience in kitchen, cleaning, or hospitality-related work, preferred.
- Must have multi-tasking skills, internal/external customer service skills.
- Physical ability to perform duties, including lifting heavy items, standing for long periods, and operating cleaning equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time efficiently.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
