We’re excited to welcome a new Associate Editor to the Blood Advances team, Steven Lane.

About the role

  • A clinical hematologist and researcher based at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Brisbane, Australia
  • Leader of a busy research group at the Queensland Institute of Medical Research
  • Focuses on myeloid blood cancers including AML, MDS, and MPN
  • Combines molecular and cell biology techniques with translational sample analysis
  • Seeks to discover new treatment options for patients with blood cancers
  • Findings have been used in prospective clinical trials to improve patient outcomes

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the peer review process for submitted manuscripts
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of editorial policies
  • Collaborate with other editors and staff to ensure high-quality content
  • Represent the journal at conferences and networking events

Requirements

  • PhD in Hematology or related field
  • Proven track record of publishing in high-impact journals
  • Experience in both basic and translational research
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
