Placement within the salary range of $19.25 - $27.91/hour is dependent on relevant work experience, internal equity, and, for union-represented positions, collective bargaining agreement rules.

This role involves disassembling, cleaning, assembling, sterilizing, and storing procedure trays, instruments, equipment, and supplies according to prescribed procedures while following established infection control practices. The position also includes completing requests to dispense supplies directly to the Operating Rooms and maintaining department supply inventory.

Responsibilities

• Provides accurate information and timely updates to patients and customers, addressing questions and concerns promptly or identifying appropriate resources.
• Offers directions or assistance to patients and customers.
• Uses effective service recovery skills to resolve problems or service breakdowns.
• Demonstrates teamwork by assisting co-workers within and across departments, communicating effectively, respecting diverse opinions, and acknowledging contributions.
• Maintains and updates department reports.
• Dispenses sterile supplies and trays to hospital departments.
• Assembles case carts with high accuracy.
• Communicates with inventory specialists for all supplies.
• Performs quality control functions.
• Disassembles and cleans instruments and equipment using proper techniques.
• Assembles instrument trays with a high degree of accuracy using the instrument tracking system.
• Maintains assigned work areas in a clean and organized manner.
• Sterilizes all instruments and supplies using the correct sterilization method.
• Completes all sterilization documentation.
• Prioritizes workload.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 1 year of experience (3+ years preferred).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Sterile Processing certification through an accredited body.
