Responsibilities
- Handle, inspect, decontaminate, package, and sterilize production supplies, equipment, instruments, and tooling for all core-related activities.
- Perform visual and functional inspections of medical device kits for field surgeries.
- Decontaminate and sterilize all tooling, supplies, and equipment used in production areas.
- Unload and restock autoclaves, transferring items to designated locations using FIFO technique.
- Coordinate the removal of processed tooling, equipment, and materials from processing rooms for decontamination.
- Aseptically transfer donors and supplies into processing production areas.
- Aseptically fill cleaning canisters for core room disinfection.
- Coordinate the supply and material flow in each processing room to support technicians and processes.
- Sanitize all areas and equipment in processing and supporting departments using chemical disinfection standards.
- Package and aseptically transfer supplies for all processing and supporting departments.
- Operate ATP fluid handling process equipment, loading and unloading as needed.
- Maintain effective core inventory, par levels, reorder points, and material flow using FIFO technique.
- Document daily production activities related to sterilization functions.
- Support the maintenance of bio-waste rooms and removal of trash and bio-waste from processing and supporting departments.
- Transport instrumentation from prep room to Procurement Suite satellite area (Edison).
- Handle, inspect, decontaminate, package, and sterilize medical device kits for ACT field surgeries.
- Maintain supply and housekeeping protocols for locker room sterile and non-sterile supplies and garments.
- Assist with special projects and perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 1 year Tissue Banking, Central Sterile Supply, Central Sterile Processing, or Surgical Technician experience.
- 1 year Production experience in a sterile environment in the pharmaceutical or medical fields.
- 1 year experience in a position requiring use of hand tools or procedures involving hand-eye coordination.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
