About the role

The Sterile Processing Technician Certified I is responsible for the safe and effective reprocessing of surgical instruments and medical devices, including decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and distribution. This role ensures compliance with infection control standards, manufacturer guidelines, and regulatory requirements to support patient safety and clinical operations.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver care for Iowa Health-Des Moines customers through the efficient and timely management of instruments, supplies and equipment resources.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Must read, write, speak and comprehend English fluently.
  • Successfully completed a Central Sterile certification process and hold a current certification license.
  • Successful completion of an in-house modular education program.
  • Accept non-certified applicants with previous related experience.
