Sterile Processing Technician (Central Sterile) | UMH-Sparrow Ionia

Essential Duties

• Reprocesses multiple use items from the surgical department and throughout the hospital.
• Including but not limited to decontamination, inspection, testing, assembly, packaging and sterilization.
• Retrieves, reprocesses, and distributes multiple use items from all patient care areas.
• Accurately and consistently documents sterilizer loads, parameters, biological tests, and other necessary items.
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
• Maintains accurate level of supplies and equipment at all times.
• Maintains knowledge of current sterilization standards.
• Takes immediate action when failures are recognized.

Job Requirements

• Previous experience in Sterile Processing, preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Completion of sterile processing training program within 6 months of hire or transfer.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills

• Interpersonal skills to effectively and appropriately communicate with other team members, patients and families.
• Basic computer skills to include word processing, databases, EMR, and e-mail.
