Sterile Processing Technician 2

About the role

Inova Fairfax Hospital is seeking a Full-Time Evening Shift Sterile Processing Technicians 2 to join the OR team. The position operates Monday-Friday with rotating weekends, shifts from 2:30pm-11:00pm.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminates instruments safely and appropriately.
• Assembles instrumentation accurately and efficiently, ensuring sterility of all processed items.
• Maintains instruments inventory and ensures timely distribution to all customers.
• Prioritizes instruments and assembles complex trays.
• Affords a leadership role within the department.
• Serves as a resource in at least two specialty areas/procedures.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• One-year Sterile Processing experience required.
• Certification as either a CRCST or CBSPD from The International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (CRCST) or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD).

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED is preferred.

Skills

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential.
