Responsibilities
- Ensure all reusable supplies, including instruments, equipment, linen, and surgical supplies, are properly decontaminated, assembled, inspected, packaged, sterilized, and distributed.
- Clean and disinfect the Operating Room or procedural area between patients throughout the day.
- Reprocess instruments in the Operating Room environment using immediate use steam sterilization or per-acetic acid and maintain the standards of reprocessing at the level utilized in the Central Processing Department, when possible.
- Act as a resource for the Operating Room staff and all other departments within the hospital.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- Certification by HSPA required within 18 months of hire.
- Previous hospital experience preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
