Responsibilities
- Cleans, disinfects, sterilizes, assembles, and distributes surgical instruments and medical equipment used in surgery at our ASC.
- Helps ensure patient safety by maintaining strict infection-control standards, inspecting instruments for quality and functionality, and preparing surgical trays for procedures.
- Works closely with operating room staff, nurses, and surgeons and Reps in our surgery center.
Requirements
- Attention to detail — able to carefully inspect instruments and follow exact sterilization procedures.
- Organization skills — keeps equipment, trays, and records accurate and properly arranged.
- Reliability and responsibility — consistently follows safety and infection-control standards.
- Able to work under pressure — stays focused in fast-paced surgical environments.
- Teamwork and communication — works well with nurses, surgeons, and other healthcare staff.
- Problem-solving skills — can identify missing, damaged, or improperly sterilized instruments quickly.
- Physical stamina — comfortable standing for long periods, lifting trays, and moving equipment.
- Commitment to cleanliness and safety — understands the importance of preventing infections and protecting patients.
- Willingness to learn — stays updated on sterilization techniques, equipment, and healthcare regulations.
- Time management — prepares instruments and supplies efficiently to support surgical schedules.
