About the Role

Provides a continuous flow of sterile/reusable supplies, equipment, and surgical instrumentation through centralized collection, disinfection, inspection, assembly, preparation, sterilization, and monitoring for hospital areas. Performs these services in accordance with regulatory guidelines and designated policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.
  • Receives, cleans, and decontaminates supplies and equipment following departmental policies.
  • Performs, documents, and monitors all quality control tools.
  • Receives and inventories departmental supplies, instrumentation, and equipment.
  • Prepares instrumentation and equipment for sterilization according to recommended procedures and techniques.
  • Operates all departmental equipment safely and effectively.
  • Scans instrumentation and assembles it according to prescribed procedures and techniques.

Additional duties may be assigned.

Technical Capabilities

  • Environmental Sterility & Safety (Novice): Demonstrates fundamental proficiency in practical applications of moderate difficulty, generally under the direction of others.
  • Equipment Maintenance (Novice): Maintains equipment, products, or systems, ensuring sufficient parts inventory.
  • Surgical Equipment Knowledge (Novice): Understands specific equipment, its performance criteria, capabilities, and limitations. Uses equipment for basic tasks and may conduct remedial or preventive maintenance.
  • Inventory Control (Novice): Demonstrates fundamental proficiency in inventory control for practical applications of moderate difficulty.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Less than 1 year of relevant work experience.
