About the role
The Sterile Processing Manager plays a crucial role in the operation of the department, supporting the Mission, Goals, and Objectives of the hospital. They assist in integrating operations with other departments to ensure efficiency and coordination, recruit qualified personnel, maintain quality control, and promote the hospital to various stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the operation of the department by leading and implementing the Mission, Goals, and Objectives of the hospital.
- Support the Director of Sterile Processing in recruiting and maintaining a competent and sufficient number of personnel.
- Maintain quality control programs and continuously assess and improve the quality of care and services provided.
- Assist with the orientation and continuing education of all department personnel.
- Recommend necessary resources to the Director of Sterile Processing.
- Promote and support the hospital to all potential customers by participating in hospital and community events.
Requirements
- A minimum of three (3) years Sterile Processing experience, two-year Surgical Technology Course or CRCST/CSPDT preferred.
- A minimum of three (3) years of leadership experience is preferred.
- Good supervisory, communication, and technical skills.
- Ability to work under pressure situations.
- Attention to details.
- Ability to operate a computer.
- Knowledge of operating room instrumentation and equipment.
- Knowledge of aseptic technique and infection control.
Qualifications
- Required Education: Two Year Surgical Technology Course or CRCST/CSPDT preferred.
- Preferred Education: Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree.
- Required License/Certification: CSPDT/IAHCSMM Certification required.
