About the role
The Sterile Processing Educator III at UC San Diego is responsible for applying training skills and technical experience to provide expertise, technical consultation, training, and problem resolution. They ensure adherence to sterile processing policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, participate in continuous quality and safety assessment programs, and establish quality standards for sterilization, decontamination, and disposal of equipment and supplies.
Responsibilities
- Applies training skills and technical experience to provide expertise, technical consultation, training, and problem resolution.
- Ensures adherence to sterile processing policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Participates in continuous quality and safety assessment programs and process improvement initiatives.
- Participates in the establishment of quality standards for sterilization, decontamination, and disposal of equipment and supplies.
- Trains and supports educational strategies that develop competency.
- Keeps up to date with advances in the field.
Requirements
- Demonstrated expertise and thorough knowledge of all aspects of sterile processing operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
- Four (4) full years of current experience as an active Educator making lesson plans and teaching and training.
Skills
- Seasoned, experienced health education professional with a full understanding of industry practices and campus policies and procedures.
- Good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
