Sterile Processing Assistant - Evenings - SPD

Responsibilities

• Decontamination of surgical instruments and equipment
• Assisting with loading and unloading instruments and trays to and from the washer disinfector and cart washer respectively
• Aids in case cart assembly
• Transportation of sterilized items to the operating room for storage or patient use
• Restocking sterile storage areas
• Breaks down shipping and delivery boxes in the department

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Basic computer knowledge
• Good interpersonal skills
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and the ability to receive and give constructive feedback
• Good verbal and written communication skills, being concise by phone and in person
• One year of instrumentation experience in a hospital setting or Certificate of Completion in Hospital Central Service Technology from an accredited educational institution is optional, but not required
