About the Role

This role supports surgical services and hospital units by ensuring the availability of sterile instruments and supplies while adhering to regulatory standards. Responsibilities

• Collect and decontaminate used instruments and equipment.
• Inspect and assemble surgical instrument sets.
• Operate autoclaves and sterilization equipment safely.
• Maintain inventory and storage of sterile supplies.
• Follow infection control guidelines (AAMI, AORN, OSHA).
• Communicate effectively with surgical and nursing teams.
• Document sterilization cycles and quality control checks.
• Assist with case cart assembly and distribution.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of or enrollment in a central sterile processing program preferred.
• Certification not required upon hire but must be achieved as part of role progression.
• Previous experience in healthcare or sterile processing environment preferred.
