About the role
Performs routine tasks relating to the decontamination, processing, sterilization and distribution of instruments, equipment and sterile supplies.
Responsible for general operating and monitoring of sterilization, maintains records in compliance with AAMI, AORN, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards.
Maintains certification, monitors and instructs certified and non-certified personnel.
Communicates with departments and staff throughout the day to maintain a smooth work-flow.
Assures daily task assignments are completed. May be requested to assume responsibility in the absence of the Supervisor and/or Manager.
Involved with training in competency of tasks performed by the staff and participates in hospital wide educational projects.

Requirements
2 years of sterile equipment processing.
Computer skills.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
One of the following primary Central Services certifications is required upon hire or transfer: CRCST, CBSPDT.
One of the following post-primary certifications is required within one year of hire or transfer: CIS, CSIS, CER, CFER, CHL, CSPM, CASSPT.
Qualifications
Physical Requirements-Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly).
