Rate of pay: $17.48 per hour. Average weekly hours: up to 15 hours at various locations throughout Davenport. Reports directly to Out of School Time Administrative Staff.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and supervision to school-based afterschool programs within the Davenport Community School District.
- Plan and supervise all activities during the Stepping Stones program.
- Supervise direct-service program assistants, certified instructors, community agency representatives, and America Reads Program volunteers.
- Engage with students in large and small groups, modeling good social skills and facilitating healthy relationships.
- Facilitate behavioral interventions according to Stepping Stones philosophy, policies, and procedures as needed.
- Build relationships with school-day personnel to ensure smooth program operations.
- Communicate positively and professionally with Stepping Stones staff, students, families, and the public.
- Provide direct supervision of students at all times, ensuring health and safety both in and outside the school building.
- Prepare and facilitate student academic activities, supporting good work habits, critical thinking skills, and positive attitudes about learning.
- Participate in the preparation, facilitation, and clean-up of activities, including maintenance of Stepping Stones materials and program space.
- Prepare and provide information for Stepping Stones staff, school building staff, and families.
- Keep detailed records and reports of activities, including snack choices, attendance, student behavior, accidents, staff work records, student files, and other required paperwork per DHS licensure requirements.
- Complete 12 hours of ongoing professional development each academic year.
- Obtain DHS Child Care Assistance, Mandatory Reporter Training, and CPR/First Aid Certification within 60 days of employment.
- Perform other similar duties as requested.
Requirements
- One year of experience working within a school setting or daycare setting.
- Supervisory experience.
- Able to walk up and down stairs, stand and walk for extended periods, lift 30 pounds, bend, squat, and kneel.
Qualifications
- Experience with district and area family resource providers and Family Resources preferred.
- Punctual and consistent attendance record.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff.
- Experience in creating and maintaining positive learning environments and contributing to a positive climate and culture.
- Positive attitude and ability to be flexible.
- Patient, compassionate, and a willingness to work with a diverse population.
