STEM After School Instructor K-6

About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic, motivated, and talented individuals to work as Lead Instructors in our after-school programs. Lead instructors guide students through our world-class project-based learning curriculum to learn new technology skills in coding, Minecraft, ROBLOX, video editing, game design, and more.

This is a seasonal, part-time, hourly position with full school-year sessions running in 6-8 week blocks. Opportunities to continue into additional seasons, including summer, are available. Instructors gain in-room technology experience with excited students and receive paid training.

Responsibilities

• Teach after-school technology programs to students ages 8-14
• Deliver project-based learning curriculum in coding, Minecraft, ROBLOX, video editing, game design, and other STEM topics
• Work with teacher-to-student ratios of 12:1
• Transport equipment weighing up to 25 pounds daily as needed

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Experience working with children ages 8-14 and/or technology
• Experience with children in an educational setting preferred but not required
• Reliable transportation throughout the Saugus school district
• Must be available after school hours (approximately 2:00 - 5:00 PM, Monday-Friday)
• Strong technology skills preferred, such as a background in 3D modeling, digital arts, coding, game creation or design, animation, robotics, modifying games, video editing, competitive gaming, or significant knowledge of Minecraft or Roblox (including modding or streaming)

Pay

Lead Instructors earn $20/hr - $28/hr, with paid training provided.

Schedule

• Part-time, after-school hours (approximately 2:00 - 5:00 PM, Monday-Friday)
• Opportunities to work 35+ hours/week in the summer upon completion of the school-year program
