The Biologische Station Zwillbrock e.V. is seeking a Business Manager to join their team starting January 1, 2027. The position is full-time (83%) with the possibility of additional compensation through projects. We manage over 3000 hectares of moors and wet meadows in the district of Borken, primarily FFH and EU bird protection areas. This includes cooperation with local authorities, nature conservation bodies, municipal administrations, volunteer naturalists, neighboring Dutch colleagues, and more than 300 tenant farmers. We document flora and fauna, develop specialized plans, and implement nature conservation measures. Our sheep farming is a key part of our identity, and we engage in public relations and education. About the role
The Business Manager is responsible for organizing all fachliche, wissenschaftliche und administrative Aufgaben and leading a team of approximately 20 employees. Key responsibilities include:
- Organizing all activities under the FÖBS (Förderung Biologischer Stationen in NRW)
- Acquiring and managing projects and contracts
- Representing the organization externally with regional authorities, organizations, politics, and industry
- Creating financial and work reports
Requirements
A university degree (Diplom or Master's) in biology, landscape ecology, or related fields, along with extensive professional experience in nature conservation. A Class B driver’s license, suitability for external duty, and willingness to use the private car for official duties are required. The successful candidate should be flexible, motivated, and resilient, willing to collaborate with various stakeholders in nature conservation.
