Statistician - II (Associate)
About the role
This is a hands-on, project-facing position supporting fast-paced, critical-path process development work. The role involves close collaboration with process scientists and engineers to design experiments, analyze data, and deliver study reports using in-house JMP tools. Candidates must be comfortable communicating regularly via Teams and email, and willing to engage in ongoing dialogue with cross-functional team members.
Responsibilities
- Develop study designs (DOE), perform statistical analysis, and produce reported output using in-house developed JMP tools for fast-paced, critical-path projects.
- Participate in process characterization teams to understand requirements, design study experiments, and discuss results.
- Collaborate with process scientists and engineers through joint conversations to discuss issues and constraints on study design and execution.
- Work with process scientists and engineers to complete study reports as needed.
Qualifications
Education and minimum experience:
- Master's in statistics, biostatistics, or related discipline (e.g., chemical engineering, industrial engineering) with a minimum of 2 years' relevant experience, or
- PhD or equivalent degree with a minimum of 1 year relevant work experience.
Required skills and experience:
- Proven experience applying Design of Experiments (DOE) to real-life process development problems.
- Solid knowledge of statistical analysis methodologies and experimental design.
- Strong hands-on experience with JMP; working knowledge of other statistical and data processing software (e.g., Minitab).
- Ability to learn quickly, be proactive and motivated, and consistently focus on details and execution.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to function effectively in a team environment.
Preferred background: Industry experience in biopharma, medical device, or pharma — including internships or co-ops with companies in those industries for a minimum of 2 years. Industrial engineer or chemical engineer background with DOE experience and statistical analysis in process development is a plus.
Schedule
