STATISTICAL and PSYCHOLOGY RESEARCH PROFESSIONAL

Description of Responsibilities

Aid in the creation and execution of a detailed study protocol, including hypotheses, methodologies, data collection strategies, and statistical analysis of study data under the guidance of USAFSAM/FESP professional staff. Provide a relevant scientific literature review and data analyses, and participate in discussions with USAFSAM/FESP staff. Offer advice on optimal statistical methods for analyzing study data. Perform statistical analyses using various procedures like descriptive and inferential statistics. Ensure data security and confidentiality in accordance with Institutional Review Board (IRB) protocols and safeguards. Prepare reports of scientific and statistical results for publication and coordination with USAFSAM/FESP and 711 HPW staff. Expect occasional travel for professional support, customer consultations, and research presentations. Maintain open communication with project personnel while adhering to confidentiality and classification requirements. Manage data acquisition, input, maintenance, and storage, assisting in the collection of assessment data and its entry into the project database. Support project operations by participating in research team meetings, leading weekly meetings, and ensuring effective communication among team members. Be prepared to support additional USAFSAM/FESP-related investigations if research capabilities or workload are interrupted.

Required Degree/Education/Certification

A minimum of a Master’s degree in Research Psychology, Industrial Organizational Psychology, or a related Psychology discipline is required. A Doctoral degree in these fields, combined with at least seven (7) years of relevant experience, is preferred. Certification in administering psychological assessments (e.g., NEO, Hogan, EQ-i) and providing individualized feedback is desired.

Required Skills and Experience

• Expert knowledge in database development, data analysis using software like JMP, SPSS, R, etc., and product development for presenting research outcomes (e.g., statistical results and interpretations).
• Experience in administrative management, particularly in study design, methodology, and disseminating research results.
• Ability to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) based on potential access to confidential information.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Experience with human performance and behavioral science research within the Department of War (DoW).
• Experience in developing and administering comprehensive, validated psychological instruments via mobile and web-based capabilities.
• Experience as an author of publications in peer-reviewed journals or official USAF/DoW technical reports in behavioral science.

Required Citizenship and Clearance
