About the role

Northwest Hospital is seeking a licensed First Grade Stationary Engineer to join our daytime engineering operations team. This is not a back-of-house, isolated boiler room role. This position is forward-facing, highly collaborative, and essential to hospital operations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections of boilers, chillers, pumps, air handlers, and associated utility systems
• Maintain accurate documentation to support regulatory compliance and operational excellence
• Monitor, log, and trend equipment readings to proactively prevent failures
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment
• Troubleshoot and respond to operational issues quickly and effectively
• Collaborate with maintenance technicians, leadership, and clinical teams to resolve issues

Requirements

• Maryland First Grade Stationary Engineer’s License (required)
• 5+ years of central plant or hospital utilities experience
• Strong troubleshooting ability and attention to detail
• Professional presence with the ability to interact with patients, staff, and leadership
• High energy, customer-focused mindset
