What You’ll Do
- Serve as lead worker (e.g., provides work direction and training) over lower-level powerhouse workers and/or inmates in installation, repair, maintenance and operation of powerhouse equipment (e.g., boilers, furnaces, stokers, other fuel burning equipment, turbines, blowers, flow meters, pumps, generators, fans, pollution control equipment)
- Make rounds of powerhouse reading gauges, adjusting equipment and observing operation of equipment
- Start, stop and change over-generating equipment as needed
- Keep powerhouse logs, recording gauge readings, fuel consumed, power generated
- Maintain work performed, time card and related records
- Maintain security of inmates
- Maintain inventory of parts and supplies and order parts
- Oversee and/or perform maintenance on area around powerhouse
- Perform annual boiler inspection and maintenance
- Serve on institutional committees
- Attend training, seminars and/or meetings as required
- Perform security functions as required (e.g., man-down, shakedown, inmate movement)
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Stationary Steam Engineer License pursuant to Section 4104.19, Revised Code
- 6 months experience as licensed stationary engineer

Pay
Pay ranges from approximately $54,000 to $72,000. Starting pay will be based on qualifications, education, experience, and location.
