About the role

First Landing State Park is accepting applications for the Camp Store & Snack Bar Ranger position. Seeking a friendly, detail-oriented individual to provide excellent customer service in the camp store and snack bar.

Responsibilities

• Assists customers and process merchandise sales.
• Prepares and serves food, refreshments, and ice cream; washes dishes; and ensures the kitchen area and equipment remain clean and operable.
• Responsible for general upkeep and cleanliness of the snack bar and camp store areas.
• Maintains merchandise displays and shelving, ensuring items are fully stocked and properly organized.
• Reconciles revenue and balances cash registers.
• Assists with stocking and conducting weekly inventory of food and merchandise.

Requirements

• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills and a willingness to work in a team environment.
• Able to work effectively with co-workers and park guests.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of a criminal history background check.
• A valid State Driver's License is required if operating a state or personal vehicle for agency business.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations.
• Prior experience in retail preferred.

Pay

Hourly Rate: $15.00/hr

Schedule

Wage/seasonal positions are limited to 1,500 hours from May 1 to April 30.

• Free camping outside of the Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day period in sites designed for up to six people.
• Free camping Sunday night through Thursday night (excluding the night prior to a holiday) from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day.
• Fifty percent discount on cabins (up to 3 bedrooms) outside of Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day, for a maximum of 14 nights. All reservations require a two-night minimum. Bunkhouses, camping cabins, and yurts are included; one-night yurt stays only receive a 25% discount.
