State Parks - Douthat State Park - Housekeeping Ranger Lead - Open Until Filled

Hiring rate: $16.00 per hour. Wage/seasonal positions are limited to 1,500 hours from May 1 to April 30 and are not eligible for benefits.

About the role

Douthat State Park is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic applicant to fill the Housekeeping Lead position. This position will assist in the proper and prompt cleaning of cabins, restrooms, campground bathhouses, and other park structures. May be required to perform other park-related duties during emergencies or on a non-recurrent basis.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the proper and prompt cleaning of cabins, restrooms, campground bathhouses, and other park structures
• Inventory cleaning and cabin supplies
• Coordinate daily tasks with Housekeeping Manager
• Assist with training other housekeeping staff to ensure quality of housekeeping services
• Conduct cabin inspections

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of cleaning equipment, inventory management, procurement of goods, and familiarization of basic cleaning supplies
• Experience in housekeeping
• Ability to work with little or no supervision
• Valid Virginia driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Requires standing, bending, and working outdoors exposed to the elements
• Must be able to work well with other staff and park guests
• Must be willing to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays
• Selected candidate(s) will need to complete the I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification Form
• Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of a background check including a criminal history record check
