Job openings at DCR Housekeeping and/or Apparel Worker II Housekeeping Ranger Lead Open Until Filled State Parks - Douthat State Park Apply Now Hiring rate: $16.00 per hour Douthat State Park is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic applicant to fill the Housekeeping Lead position. This position will assist in the proper and prompt cleaning of cabins, restrooms, campground bathhouses, and other park structures. This position will be responsible for the inventorying of cleaning and cabin supplies. The Housekeeping Lead will coordinate daily task with Housekeeping Manager. The Housekeeping Lead will assist with training other housekeeping staff to ensure quality of housekeeping services. This job will require conducting cabin inspection. May be required to perform other park-related duties during emergencies or on a non-recurrent basis. Minimum Qualifications Basic knowledge of cleaning equipment, inventory management, procurement of goods, and familiarization of basic cleaning supplies. Experience in housekeeping Ability to work with little to no supervision. Must have a valid Virginia driver’s license and reliable transportation. Requires standing, bending, and working in the outdoors exposed to the elements. Must be able to work well with other staff and park guests. Must be willing to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays. Special Requirements A valid State Driver's License is required to operate a state vehicle or if operating a personal vehicle while conducting business on behalf of the agency. Selected candidate(s) will need to complete the I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification Form. DCR participates in E-Verify. Employment in all positions within the Virginia State Parks is contingent upon satisfactory completion of a background check including a criminal history record check. Wage/seasonal positions are not eligible for benefits and are limited to 1,500 hours from May 1 to April 30. Fifty percent discount on cabins (up to 3 bedrooms) outside of Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day, for a maximum of 14 nights. All reservations require a two-night minimum. Bunkhouses, camping cabins and yurts are included; one night yurt stays only receive a 25% discount.
